Foote Jr. Flies to Spartan Speedway Victory
Harry Foote Jr. is on a hot streak in the mid-Michigan area as the veteran driver leads the points at both Spartan and Calhoun County Speedways and also leads the Finish Line Fabricating/Proformance Racing Engines Six Pack Shootout Series. So, putting the hot shoe on the pole for the Comcast Cablevision Super Late Model 50-lap feature wasn't a good idea for his competitors as Foote Jr. took the win in a heated battle with fast qualifier, Jack Landis. Foote Jr. and Landis put on a show for the last half of the race as Landis looked to have the faster car, but just couldn't find a way by the veteran driver. As the leaders came down for the white flag, Landis went to the outside of Foote Jr. The duo traded some paint but Foote held on for the win. Rookie, A.J. Foote had the best seat in the house as he had his best finish of the year in 3rd over Jeff Hackworth and Doug Finley. John Dunivon had the Hidy's Towing Hard Charger award rapped up while running 9th from 15th starting spot when he headed to the pits with one lap to go. Jeff Finley was the RaceFan.Com/ Valvloine Oil Winner for the event. Craig Willett, Lee Taylor and Foote Jr. won heat races as John Dunivon won the Semi-Feature over Evan Barrett, Tom Klopp and Willett. Landis set fast time for the 24-car field with a lap time of 13.094.
Chris Ozanich proved the front row was the place to be on this night as he was never headed in the 35-lap WIBM AM1450 Modifieds caution free feature event. While Ozanich and Justin Kazmar ran one-two. The race to watch was for 3rd through 8th as Mike Wells finally got by Larry Wallace for 3rd as Bud Perry rounded out the top five.

Earl Miles, Steve Curry and Jim Butler were heat race winners. Wayne Haughton won the 12-car Semi-Feature over Curry, Bill Butler and Matthew Schindewolf. LeRoy Ellis set fast time for the 28-car field at 13.736.
The Performance NW Street Stocks feature had a few new faces looking for their first wins of the year as Butch Morence Jr. and Bob Flotka fought it out for the first 15 laps as Marc Smith and Landon Hidy worked into the top five. Smith was black flagged for smoking while holding down 4th place. Morence held a demanding lead while Landon Hidy worked over Flotka for second when the caution flew for a spinning Dane Long . The lap 22 caution set up a three lap shootout and when the leaders dove into turn 1, Morence drove into turn one a little to deep and walked up the track allowing Landon Hidy to take the win with Rob Marten in tow. Morence settled down to take third in his best race of the season while Dave Bolis took home 4th from Flotka. Landon Hidy was the Lost Tiger Tattoos/Mr. Gasket Hard Charger winning from his 12th starting spot and Dane Long was the RaceFan.Com/ Valvoline Oil winner. Tommy Turner won heat one, while Morence won heat two as Chuck Wilkinson was issued a speeding ticket while leading. Wayne Beckner Jr. won the fast heat. Wilkinson recovered to win the Semi-Feature over non-qualifier, Ben Hidy and Howard McDonough. Dane Long broke the Ben Hidy streak for fast time with a lap of 14.466.
The always entertaining B&L Truck Caps Pony Stocks did it again as 4 and 5 wide racing had Nate Hinderer taking the early lead until Scott Sigman took over on lap 2. Sigman was running his best race of the year until Kenny Clark got by at the halfway mark. Sigman looked to have a top five finish when he and Jimmy Scavarda got together racing for 3rd. Sigamn was sent to the rear as Scavarda go his spot back. John Ward was the next top five victim as he headed to the pits with 5 laps to go. Clark was able to hold off all the challenges, as Bruce Jones took 2nd over Scavarda, Jerry Garland and Michael Putnam. Scavarda was the Dande Signs and Designs Hard Charger, while Harlan Oleski was the WhoWon.Com/Valvoline Oil winner.
