August 15, 2006 Three Nights To Go If you look at the points totals this week, you'll see a fierce battle shaping up between Jimmy Gallagher and Jon McNett in the Andrews Chevrolet Super Late Model Division.
They are tied going into the Friday night races on August 18. They will each try to outdo each other in qualifying, their heat race, and the feature event of the night, the "Chargin' Charlie Ryan" Memorial Race.	McNett's crew making sure everything is top-notch and ready to go
With just three nights of points racing left, sitting 45 points behind the two leaders are Stan Perry and Doug Finley, who are also tied for 3rd. If these two guys outrun Gallagher and McNett all night long, we could end up with a very close 4-way battle as 45 points can easily be made up in just one night of racing. Jeff Hackworth is fading in the points at 5th and will have to not only go for a win, but will have to rely on some poor runs by the top 4 drivers. John Ledwidge, who has been in the hunt all season long fell behind a bit too much last weekend, but is still mathematically in the running. The WMMQ Classic Rock Modifieds are being commanded by Larry Wallace who had a strong run last Friday and pulled a little further ahead of second place Chris Ozanich. Chris will have to give it all he's got from here on in and hope for at least one night of bad luck for Wallace. You can bet that Wallace will be making sure everything is right on his #55 Modified and will be trying to stay out of trouble as the season winds down. Keep an eye on 3-time champion Bud Perry as he is only 4 points behind Ozanich.
Dane Long will be back this Friday	In the Performance Automotive Northwest Street Stock Division, Dane Long's vacation time last weekend took a toll on his dominating point lead. With their decent finishes last Friday, both Damon Place and Scott Sigman were able to take a chunk of that point lead away.
We now have a very good three-way battle for the point lead with Long still leading, but only by 29 points. Bad luck hit John Ward last Friday in the Holiday Powersports Pony Stock Division. This is just what everyone else needed, especially Jimmy Scavarda who dominated everything by being the fast qualifier, then winning his heat race, and capping off the night with a feature win. Ward's lack of luck began just prior to the heat race, when his #Fox47 Dodge Shadow failed to start for a lack of fuel pressure. They found the problem but not until the heat race was over. Then in the feature, Ward brought out the caution on lap 2 and had to pit for a flat tire. He was able to get back out before the green flew and drove a very good race from there on, salvaging a third place finish.
