Andrews Chevrolet sponsored a trophy night at Spartan Speedway, on July 28th, and Jon McNett visited the Winner?s Circle, with a win, in the Andrews Chevrolet Super Late Model division. Patience was the key this past Friday night, as John Ledwidge, Doug Finley and McNett all wanted that top spot. Finley made his way around Ledwidge in the early laps, bringing McNett and Stan Perry along with him. Finley and McNett broke away from the pack to slug it out for first. Finley broke just shy of the halfway mark, with McNett inheriting the lead. Perry glued himself to McNett?s bumper, while Evan Barrett and Jeff Hackworth vied for third. Hackworth made a move under Barrett and they got together, bringing out the caution. This closed up the field behind McNett and Perry, but McNett set sail on the restart, giving himself a little breathing room. Caution in the waning laps, once again, diminished his lead, but McNett proved to be the strongest of the ten remaining cars. At the stripe, it was McNett, Perry, Hackworth, Jimmy Gallagher, and Ledwidge. Heat winners were Dean Gassert and Ledwidge.

Twenty WMMQ Classic Rock 94.9 MI Modifieds lined up for their 35-lap feature with snake eyes on the pole. A pair of ones, Brian Heeney and Jason Parish, brought the field down to the green, with a pair of sixes, Matt Schindewolf and Perry Davenport, in hot pursuit. Heeney led lap one, with Parish challenging for the lead early on. Parish took over the number one position, as Heeney, not ready to give up the fight, Davenport, Shindewolf, and Earl Miles gave chase. Miles moved under Shindewolf, bringing Larry Wallace and Dan Loughan along with him. Wallace continued his charge to move into fourth ahead of Miles. Heeney was embroiled in a three-way battle for second, with Davenport and Wallace. Davenport took the spot away just as caution flew, forcing him to try it again on the restart. Loughan made his way around Miles for fifth, and while Davenport had regained the second position. Parish and Davenport continued to battle, while Wallace went to work on Heeney, grabbing the third spot. When the checkered flag waved, it was Parish, Davenport, Wallace, Heeney, and Loughan.

Dane Long, once again, dominated the Performance Automotive NW street stock division by setting fast time, winning the fast heat, and taking his ninth feature win. Nate Moon found his way into the winner?s circle when he scored his heat win. When the green flag flew on the 25-lap feature, Mike Ammerman wasted no time making his bid for number one. He went into the lead, on lap three, from his sixth starting position. Caution closed up the field, but Ammerman?s lead was safe, as Heeney, Koone, and Long had to work their way around Moon sitting in second on the restart. A second caution turned Ammerman into a prime target, with Heeney and Long right on his tail. Long made his way around both Heeney and Ammerman, but Ammerman didn?t go down without a fight. Long finally took over the top spot, while Ammerman and Heeney came home in second and third, respectively. Moon and Damon Place rounded out the top five.

The Holiday Powersports Pony Stocks saw Mark Garland fight his way up from his fifteenth spot in the grid, to pull off the win in the 20-lap feature. Tina Anderson started on the pole and jockeyed for position with Keith Holden, while Bryan Passick Jr., Bo Smith, and Jimmy Scavarda breathed down their necks. Garland was steadily negotiating traffic to sit in fourth by the halfway mark. Anderson and Holden were running side by side, while Passick and Garland made Smith the meat in their sandwich, with Garland getting the upper hand after the pass. Passick fought back to take back the spot on the very next lap, while Anderson pulled away. Passick and Garland ran side by side to catch Anderson and made a sandwich out of Anderson as well. Garland once again came out on top, with Passick in tow. At the line, it was Garland, Passick Jr., Anderson, John Ward, and Holden.
