A new revision has been posted today for the new 2007 rulebook. Today's revisions are minor, they are mostly clarifications in a few spots.
The body rule for the Sportsman class has been clarified. Sportsman competitors: Be sure to read it. Also, important to notice is the air cleaner rule. If an air cleaner is protruding through the hood, it must be completely covered by a hood scoop. An opening in the rear of the scoop is allowed.
The weight for the Super Late Models is now listed as 2700 "post-race". There is no provision for fuel consumption. Be sure to be heavy enough prior to the start of any competitive event to allow for fuel consumption.
Weights for all classes are "post-race".
The new breakout rule for 2007 has been clarified to indicate that if the breakout infraction occurs during the heat race, you will start at the rear of the consi, even if your original qualifying run put you in the feature. Your qualifying run is disqualified and the original 17th (21st in the case of the Pony Stocks) fastest car will be moved into the feature.

Another new revision of the 2007 rulebook is now online. This revision has just a small addition to SECTION 1, the minimum age requirement for each class and a note about minor release forms.

| I just wanted to know what the reasoning was for changing the super weight to 2700 pounds post race? thanks Evan Barrett |

One reason was we wanted to standardize all 5 classes. They are all "post race" now.
It is up to the teams to decide how much weight should be carried prior to the start of the event so that it will be no less than the minimum weight after the event. There is no pound per lap allowance any longer. If it's a longer race, then some teams will have to add a little more fuel or carry a little more ballast.
We might also do surprise spot checks after qualifying every once in awhile. The minimum must always be met, no matter if it is before, during or after any competitive event, whether it be qualifying, a heat race, or a feature.

what if the team is trying to work on the car to meet the minumin wight and tech poeple come up and dose surprise spot checks. And by some chance the car dose not make the wight. do you DQ that car what would they do about that.

It sounds like you're referring to checking a car while it's sitting in it's pit.
That would be a bit absurd for us to do something like that. And besides, sitting in a pit being worked on is not a "competitive event". Neither is practice.
A surprise spot check would be something like checking cars after they come off the track following their qualifying run. That's not usually done and the drivers don't expect it. Or weighing after a heat race. That usually isn't done either, but they must be of legal weight at that point in time also.
This really isn't a problem. It's just the weight of the car. And it's pretty simple to keep it legal.

Today, we made 3 revisions to the 2007 rulebook.
Super Late Model weights are listed as 2700 pounds minimum post-race with driver.
With a template body, 25 pounds may be deducted.
With a sealed crate motor, 75 pounds may be deducted. Eligible engines are listed.
A correction was made to the cylinder head listing for the RWD Pure Stocks.
2000-up Neons are allowed, however they are limited to the same 132HP base engine as the 95-99 Neon. The 150HP SOHC Magnum engine is NOT ALLOWED.
