Champions for the 2012 season were crowned Friday night at Spartan Speedway in Mason, Michigan.

Veteran Andy Bozell clinched the point title with a win the 40 lap Tripp’s Auto Shop Collision Center super late model feature. The Michigan Motorsports Hall of Famer overtook Dave Stehower and his son Phil Bozell on the final night in one of the closest point battles ever. Larry Wallace (modifieds), Damon Place (Spartan stock A division), Rob Newman (Spartan stock B division), Brian Beckner (Pony stock A division) and DJ Marciniak (Pony stock B division) were also crowned champs for 2012. Trevor Berry won the wingless sprint title last week.
Chance Rice (Sawyer’s Chevy Superstore Modifieds), Ron Heeney (Lipari Foods Spartan Stock A division), Marc Long (Lipari Foods Spartan Stock B division), Davey Kelley (Lipari Foods Spartan Stock C Division). Mike Westfall (Boss Snow Equipment Pony Stock A Division), and Randy Kretzinger (Boss Snow Equipment Pony Stocks B Division) also captured feature wins. Dean Transportation bus driver Marcella Ozanich captured round four of the Mid-Michigan School Bus Challenge and joins Jack Mahoney (Okemos), Holly Smith (Stockbridge) and Kathy Miller (Jackson Northwest) in the championship finals next week .

Next Friday, it’s Super Saver night with adult and senior general admission at $8, kids 6-12 are only $3 and 5 and under are free. Pony Stocks, MCR dwarfs, Turbo Blue Michigan Legends, Engine Pro GLOW modifieds and Great Lakes Super Cups will provide the racing action plus the finals of the Mid-Michigan School Bus Challenge. Racing begins at 7:30 pm.

On Sunday, Spartan hosts is biggest event of the season with the running of the Harvest 300 Plus sponsored by Lipari Foods. The Tripp’s Auto Shop Collision Center super late models will go 100 laps with Sawyers Chevy Superstore modifieds, Lipari Foods Spartan stocks, Boss Snow Equipment pony stocks and pony stock Figure 8’s competing in over 300 laps of feature racing. Race time is 6 pm.
