Chad Finley Looking For Success With New Crew Chief Derrick Griffin Starting At Auto City Speedway

DeWitt, Michigan (Tuesday, August 14th, 2012): The next race on the 2012 Schedule for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance is slated for Thursday, August 16th at the 7/16 (0.437) mile semi-banked paved oval of Auto City Speedway, located north of Flint in Clio, Michigan and just 45 minutes northeast of Chad Finley Racings’ Race Shop in DeWitt, Michigan.

For 20-year-old Chad Finley and his entire CFR Team, they’ve gone ahead and hit the reset button on the remainder of the 2012 campaign and are looking for nothing less than wins beginning with the BRAD 100 Presented by JEGS.com. This event will be the first ever appearance for JEGS/CRA at Auto City. Finley will be behind the wheel of the familiar #42 while Mike Staszak, from X.L.T. Engineering one of the primary sponsors within CFR will strap into the back-up #142 machine for this event.

“It’s nice to have the next few races here in our home state. Auto City is a very different race track compared to most.” Explained the DeWitt, Michigan driver. “I’ve raced there a few times so hopefully that will play into are favor. Looks like a lot of locals are entered as well there, so this will be a good race. Mike (Staszak) has some laps there also so hopefully he can have a decent run too.” He added.

Hot off the recent announcement of Derrick Griffin serving as Interim Crew Chief for the remainder of the 2012 racing season for CFR, the 21-year-old Griffin comes into the CFR camp armed with credentials including his Championship & Freshman titles in the ARCA/CRA Super Series a season ago and Finley is very optimistic about the final four JEGS/CRA races on the schedule as he heads into Auto City sitting fifth in the season long JEGS/CRA title chase.

“We went testing last week with Derrick so we could spend some time together. He certainly impressed me as we communicated well to each other right from the get go.” Finley continued. “His set-ups are really different from what I am used to. The car drove real well and was pretty fast at the test. We are going to just keep digging here and see what we can do at Auto City. Having the open practice Wednesday will for sure help us work together even more. I am excited to get to the track that’s for sure.” He ended.

10 races into the JEGS/CRA season, Finley has recorded one event win, the first of his career in CRA, which came back on May 26th in the CoughlinCars.com 100 Presented by JEGS.com at Columbus Motor Speedway in Columbus, Ohio. His win is part of his three top fives and five top 10 showings which all tie in with his first career Boyne Machine Fast Qualifier Award, which came at Lucas Oil Raceway in Clermont, Indiana last weekend.

Finley is one of the all-time leaders in most statistical categories in the second year JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour as he is currently tied for second all-time in career top five, tied for the most career top 10 finishes, fifth all-time in career laps led, tied for third all-time in career appearances, and second all-time in career laps completed.

All of Finley’s CRA cars sport identical black paint schemes as well as the familiar #42, and for the rest of the season, sponsorship support on each Ford Fusion comes from; Auto Value Parts Stores & Certified Service Centers, as well as AutoParts2020.com, XLT Engineering, NorthsideTowing.net, Rain Eater Wiper Blades, JEGS.com, Nalett Trucking, Howe Racing Enterprises, The Air Lift Company, Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil, Memphis Wood Fire Grills, Staubli Products, QuicShine99, Hyperco, Maurer’s Textiles, Superior Racing Images, & M.P.H. Promotions.
