There is a reason that there are fewer cars in the A than the B. To be fair to all drivers, the divisions are now being split by the gaps in qualifying times. For example, on August 5, the gap between the slowest A and fastest B was .41 seconds. On August 12 it was .14 (the split here was made between a car that usually ran the A and one who was usually in the B) and last week it was .42 seconds. If there were more cars in the pony division, we would have a C division so that cars who are 2 and a half seconds slower than the fastest B division car would have cars simIlar in times to compete with.

I still feel that it should be divided evenly or as close to evenly as possible. Its not only unfair to the slower "B" cars that an "A" car is in their race, but it reflects on the points standings also. Westphal was in the "A" points until this method of splitting the cars up was done the past few weeks. Now he has brought down the "A" points he has received into the "B" points standings. If this is going to be what its like for next year then the way points are issued need to be looked at so that its fair if a car that runs in the "A"'s gets moved down to the "B"'s or a "B" gets moved up into the "A"'s its more fair to them.

Brad, if a car has ran more times in the B than the A is he not a B car? It is far more fair to the drivers close to the split to run against cars .1 slower than .9 faster. The point of the A/B split is to let every driver have someone to compete and race against. That is why bill and Jim are splitting it this way.
What is truly unfair to the B main guys is when you have one driver who consistently runs 2-4 tenths faster in the feature then qualifying. _________________ Metz Racing #79

Understand all that, but why is the point structure different for the "A" then the "B"? it should be the same that way if a car moves into a different group it will be somewhat close to the new group that they are moved to
