Springport Motor Speedway was known as "Michigan Ideal Speedway" from the years 1989 through 1998. For one single special day, on July 31st, 2010, the speedway will once again be known as Michigan Ideal Speedway.

Come on out and enjoy the memories of when Russ and Pat Densmore owned and operated the track. Actually, they have never left. They still live in the house out front. And if you have attended a race this year, you have probably purchased a ticket from Pat Densmore at the main ticket booth. If you were at Racin' & Rockin' V, you would have seen Russ working with the safety crew with his fire equipment.

Spread this around: If you drove a race car in any of the races held during the 1989-1998 seasons, come on out on July 31st and get a free pit pass.

Check and see where this special link takes you: http://michiganidealspeedway.com/

On the same night, it will be "Bellevue and Olivet Night". No doubt, many people from the Bellevue/Olivet area remember attending the races in the 90's. Anyone with a Bellevue or Olivet mailing address can get in for half off general admission.

It is also "Autograph Night". Everyone is invited down on the front stretch during intermission to see the cars and meet the drivers.

And as soon as the front stretch clears, we are bringing out the "Spectator Drags". It's $100 to win. Bring your street legal car and partipate. You have to lose twice before you are out of contention. No race drivers allowed.

The Michigan Automobile Racing Fan Club is invited on this same special night. Members of the club receive FREE general admission.

Racing on this night will be our own Venom Stock Car Series and Oliver's Collision Pony Stock Series, along with the MCR Dwarf Series and the Great Lakes Supercup Series.

We are going to kick off the evening with a special flag raising ceremony at 7:30 PM. Don't miss this one. And then it will be lots of fun, excitement, and racing action, at Michigan Ideal Speedway!
