A Christmas thought to all of our friends at Spartan Speedway and Springport Motor Speedway:
silent night, holy night
in a night of thoughts before
only the worthy shall kneel
with those, the gallant and the poor
all is calm, all is bright
with heed for others astride
the burdens of home they bear
in toil for the meek they ride
round ‘yon virgin, mother and child
the hopes of the trodden despair
for the gift of respite from challenge
while knights of deliverance forebear
holy infant so tender and mild
with plentitude of want so present
the waning of spirit so clear
arise within thy soul the current
sleep in heavenly peace
again man shall meld as one
though short the time would be
within the spirit of christmas redone
sleep in heavenly peace
rise to wonder in reverence before
the miracle of works for mankind
by those, the gallant and the poor
mjs, 1996
a season of joy for you and yours,
Matthew and Mary Schindewolf
have a good day
