Does that mean there will be no outlaw division..

or does that mean Pony's will remain the same, but an outlaw division will be added.

Patrick, If I thought an outlaw type division would be received well, that there would indeed be cars with in two or three years and that it would have no impact at all on the Ponies I would be relieved and willing to give it a go but I just don't have any way of knowing and that is what bothers me. I think the Pony division will see some more growth for quite a while so maybe another 4 cyl. division just isn't necessary.

We all know that the more cars the better, especially if they are affordable cars but what type of car would be available for this hypothetical division? Would the person that would build one be just as inclined to build a Pony? If a person wanted to build a car now it seems as though the Neon is the hot ticket and there seems to be guite a few of them available in this area.

I have thought and talked about this so much that I have confused myself.

Jim,

Your making the right call on staying with the rules which have worked well.

I feel your making a mistake allowing stick shift Neons at Spartan. You saw what happen the one night one ran.. and that wasn't even a good car.

MTX Neon properly prepared will make all other cars obsolete.. if you were going to do one thing, I'd make that car not legal.

If you want to keep your older Ponies competitive.. you need to find a way to balance them out vs the ATX Neon.. You already have a class which is going all Neon, its going to get worse.

just my two cents.

It's no different then the RWD classes, the Mustangs are the way to go... cheap speed, and plenty available for spares.

I disagree with you on sticks ,if its out there and its just as cheap to run why not?
everybody was so concerned about Dans #55 car gonna clean house
he did ok but what was most inportant to him was to be able to run spartan on friday nite in 2nd gear and run a 3/8 track on saturday nite by only shifting to 3rd. none of this swapping chains and gears on saturday morning if its 4cylinder single overhead cam or 4 cylinder valves let it go that is the only way to improve car count and maybe raise the payoff.Rick Gokee sr.
