There was a topic on tires on MSTRC, and someone suggested I discuss it on here. I was getting ready to head to Spartan last Friday when another LeadSled driver from Auto City told me your tire rule was 70series or higher. AC/Dixies rules say 60 series or higher. I understand the rule to keep drivers from buying exotic tires thus driving cost higher, but you cannot find an exotic tire in a sixty series (We have tried!). We just keep coming back to the Goodyear Regatta. Nearly every car at AC/Dixie run that tire. We also run a seven inch wheel. No racing wheels allowed (I know, I think thats a kinda dumb rule as well.), and we have to have 12" of two inch exhaust before and after the muffler. Most of the rules are pretty simaler aside from wheel base (us 112" you 108".) Which brings me to my point. I would like to run Racing and Rockin, Poor Paul, and maybe a couple of other races as well. I also have about 5 or 6 other guys that are interested in racing with you guys a few times this year. With our 7" wheels can an exception on the 60-65 series tires be made? I think that the smaller wheel more than compensates for the smaller tire. I will try to call the track sometime this week as well.

Thanks,
Chad Decker

Oh yeah wooops! Well he may have ran Regattas, but did he run 60 or 65 series. Were able to run a smaller series tire at AC/Dixie. It is not alot smaller, but it is still how we set our cars up. If there is anyone who could let me know I would be greatful. It will help with figuring out where we will be racing and when. I really do want to race there though. All the guys here at AC say Spartan is a blast, and they treat you very well. I hope you will give this consideration.

I have been in contact with Jim on this issue, we are discussing it and will have an answer to this soon, in time for everyone to prepare and make the necessary decisions required to determine if you can effectively run Racin' and Rockin' IV.

Rest assued a decision will be coming soon, one that can be consdiered fair and equitable to all involved here.

One important thing to note, THIS WILL NOT BE A POINTS NIGHT FOR ANY OF THE REGULAR CLASSES AT SPRINGPORT.

HOWEVER, SHOW POINITS WILL BE AWARDED TO ALL REGULAR COMPETITORS AT SPRINGPORT FOR THEIR CLASS.

More info to come,

have a good day,

schinde

Hey Matt, I don't know if it will make a difference, but our guys are runnig Regatta 2's and it appears (from goodyear retailer.) They will no longer make a 70-75 series R215 15. I dont know if that means guys will have to come up with a new tire or what they will do. Apparently there is not a big market for that big of a tire with new passenger cars.

Hey Guys; Sorry about taking so long , my job been keeping me real busy. In answer to Racin-Rockin ,this race is a invite so your cars can run using your track rules on TIRES and WEIGHTS all other rules must be similier to our rules . For all invites also at Sparton on Sundays invites .

So is the R & R show an invite for all classes? Will it be a point race? Why not use the regular rules all year so the regulars have a chance without spending extra$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!
Maybe having a loyal base of cars just is not real high on the priority list???
