I lost a fuel pump last night in the feature and since I need to put on new tires this week I really dont want to shell out the 150 bucks Canadian that they want up here for a new Walbro pump . I know I read on here that a Ford pick up fuel pump will work but I cant remember what year or model I need to get , could someone tell me which it is .
I was told a the auxliary pump on the frame of an early 90s F350 Ford will work but the guy who told me this has given me bad info before and I dont trust him .
Thanks Earl |

Earl,
I had a walbro go bad in my pony recently. I knew all about the ford pump BUT I didn't want to spend the 100 bucks on it (US). I went to Advance Auto and had them look through their Bosch fuel pump book. We had found a pump with the right psi and it was an external one. It was only 77 bucks american.
What are your fuel pressure requirments? If it's higher I can give you the number off the one I bought tomorrow. I think mine was max of like 70psi. _________________ Metz Racing #79

Thanks DP I may try that if I cant figure out which Ford pick up pump it is that will work . I have a wrecking yard as sort of a sponsor and I wont have to pay for the Ford pump so thats why I would really like to find out which one it is .
By the way its for a 2.2 Dodge |

Earl.. any 80's Ford Motor with Electronic Fuel Injection and a 6 or 8 cylinder engine will have the external fuel pump your looking for.
Bronco, Mustang, F150/250/350, Vans, LTD, Fairmount and so forth.. |

Thank you very much LSR , now I can afford to put more then just a RF tire on my car for the weekend .
While I am here let me thank everyone on this site for all the helpful advice on set ups and everything else I dont post much but I read allot here and in two years have gone from a back marker rookie to a top 5 car with 2 feature wins this year and most of what I have learned is from this site .
Thanks again Earl |
