I was thinking, most of the other message boards have a picture forum page. We should have one on here. Whether it old photos or new photos. That would be a cool thing to see some old pics from spartan speedway, we have some 1950's pics from owosso we would love to post!

Hey Steve!
Great idea bout the historical pics. I for 1 am always looking for old pics of our great Michigan racetracks. If you geta chance, you should check out the Michigan winter waterland site. It has old pics of most of our tracks.

I agree, great Idea. I have a few pictures from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's
It would be great to have a place to show them.

I got some pics from when i worked on the track crew back in the early 90's as well, ill have to dig them up.

Do any of you have pics of Dave Moulder racing at Spartan? I have many of him at Jackson and Owosso, but none from Spartan. Other desired drivers would be, DutchTaylor and Ed Todd. also looking for pics of Dave Moulder driving through the wall at Spartan. I heard he damn near killed himself in that crash and is the reason for the water barrels? Can anyone confirm this or send pics?

You mean "Dave Mulder"? That's the correct spelling.

I think it's actually Dave Parker who you might be thinking of who had his throttle stick while going into turn one and nailed the wall near the entrance to the pits. Someone correct me if I'm remembering this wrong.

Back to Dave Mulder. There's a lot of Spartan Speedway history in that particular family. In fact, there's a lot of history at Spartan Speedway, period.

If someone, or a group of people would like to start gathering info, photos, facts, and anything else you can think of, I'll get a history/timeline section started on the website.

We really need to do this now while there are still many people living who can tell the stories from the early years to the present.

Let's get something going.

I've got 1 photo, I've been told it's from the old Capitol City Speedway. I don't have any from spartan, just owosso. That are old pics anyways...

i agree. these old racer guys are walking ,talking history books. I used to love listening to old Dick Decker tell stories of the jackson Speedway. Ill dig up what ive got and make copies and we can pick someone to submit them to. Its important to maintain the history of all our tracks and drivers.

Dave Mulder had his bad wreck over at Berlin. Dave Parker was the one at Spartan.
