A couple of years ago Maurice went through the MMA rules, which Spartan was using and the USA Mods rules and combined them to allow for just about any Mod to be able to run at Spartan/Springport. Last year the USA Mod rules allowed for the use of aluminum shocks and Spartan didn't make the adjustment simply because changes have never served us well and basically we didn't need to worry about it.
For Harvest we have traditionally allowed for some minor rule adjustments in all divisions because the whole idea is to draw more cars and have a big show.
For Harvest (which is an open invite) we will allow the aluminum shocks. If it wasn't an invite we wouldn't allow the exception. |

Jim,
You might want to point out that although Aluminum shocks will be allowed, they can not be the ones with external canisters as these are adjustable and not allowed as per usa rules.
Might just be best to use the shock rule as USA has them.
Here it is for those who might ask.
SHOCKS: (Amended 12/10/07) Shocks must be, Non-adjustable, with No external canisters, and have a racer price of less than $250.00 New per shock. 1 shock per wheel. 1 additional shock allowed in the lift / pull bar area. No air shocks. No covers.

| Good point, Thanks for pointing that out. I should be more careful. I did mean to use the USA shock rule. |

| i thought steve ellis changed hist mind before the season started, and decided that you couldn't run alluminum or adjustable shocks at all. have adjustable shocks been allowed all season, as long as they're steel bodied with no external canisters? if so, that really bites, beekuzz we were going through the trouble of making our adjustable penskees non-adjustable so they would be legal to run. the way we understood the rule, was you can't run aluminum shocks, or adjustable shocks. |

Kaz,
Re-read the rule I posted from the USA site.
It says non-adjustable and was amended in Dec.
