Corrigan Oil Speedway Results 6-21-19

With all of the rain that the area has received so far this spring, Corrigan Oil Speedway officials decided to add a night of racing for the figure 8 enduro drivers. When the dust settled, Gerald Persails took his second win of the night in the figure 8 event, and also took the claimers checkers earlier in the evening. Killian McMann won the junior bandit bandolero feature while Mason Surgener won the bandits. A great race in the late model sportsman feature had Dane Long take the win. John Kennedy won the street stocks while Greg Rudzik was tops in the Michigan legends.

The Parts Place Napa Junior Bandits took to the speedway first. Hunter Hath jumped out to an early lead, but an accident on lap two would bring out the red flag for Joel Smith. All drivers are OK. On the restart, Killian McMann led Eric Wisniewski and Logan Long. Two laps later, Long would take over second, but Wisniewski battled back on the inside, but Long took the position back on lap five. At the finish, McMann held on for the win followed by Long and Wisniewski in the top three. In the Bandit feature, Mason Surgener grabbed the lead early and led the distance to take the win over Caiden Bailey.

The growing class of Corrigan Oil Claimers saw Bobby Prather pace the field to the green flag. Jason Davis claimed the early lead with Matt Sairls and Prather close behind. Gerald Persails made his presence felt on lap three as he took over third. On alp later Persails grabbed second, and quickly caught Davis. On lap nine, Persails takes the lead, but Davis is able to keep pace. With five laps to go, Persails begins to pull away, and then leads the distance to take the win. Davis is second as Sairls holds on for third.

Aaron Hurst led the opening lap of the Sawyers Chevrolet Michigan Legends. Greg Rudzik took over on lap two as Rich Michalak followed in to second. Over the second half of the race, Rudzik continued his domination and takes the win. Michalak and Hurst are the top three.

Max Price paced the field of Boss Snow Equipment Late Model Sportsman to the green of their 35 lap main event. Price held the point for two circuits, but Tim Lahar took over on lap three as Gordon Alblas followed in to second. Caution on lap four as Alblas spins. On the restart, Barnhart challenges Lahar for the lead, taking the top spot on lap seven. Long follows in to second just one corner later. Ten laps in, Barnhart and Long begin to pull away from the field. With 20 to go, Long tries to use the high-side and pulls alongside Barnhart for the lead. As the leaders enter lapped traffic, Long uses a lapped car as a pick to take the lead. A three car battle erupts for third with ten to go, as Alblas takes the postion with seven to go. Troy Andrews gets by Lahar for forth with four laps to go. At the checkers, Long takes the win with Barnhart, Alblas, Andrews, and Cody Hall in the top five.

Dale Lewis and Nate Jenkins race side by side in the Performance Automotive Northwest Street Stocks. Lewis takes the lead on lap three followed by Ron hart and John Kennedy. Kennedy takes over second on lap five, as caution waves for Ron hart who stopped in turn four. After the restart, the top four raced two by two as Kennedy takes the lead two laps later. Tim Lahar takes the high side and looks for second with 15 laps to go. With ten laps to go, Mike Havans takes over third as Kennedy and Lahar race for the lead. At the finish, Kennedy holds on for the win followed by Tim Lahar and Mike Havans.

Gerald Persails jumped out to a quick lead in the 30-lap enduro figure 8. Eric Gilbert and Patience Degg are the top three as the red flag comes for a stalled car in the intersection. After the race went back to green flag racing, Gilbert takes the lead on lap six. Gilbert and Persails pull away and quickly put several cars laps down. By lap 20, all but the top two are on the lead lap. Five laps to go, Gilbert pulls over handing the lead to Persails. Justin Pepitone is third. At the finish, Persails dominates followed by Pepitone and Matt Sairls.
