Ammerman, Lahar, Hollister, Kretzinger, Hoffman, Rudzik, Surgener and Bailey Win at Corrigan Oil Speedway

With money falling from the sky, and NFL quarterbacks on the grounds, Corrigan Oil Speedway was ready for another Firday night of racing action. Mike Ammerman and Tim Lahar grabbed their first feature wins of the season in the Spartan Stock “A” and “B” features, as Ryan Hollister took his second in the Outlaw Pony Stock class. Randy Kretzinger Jr kept his perfect streak alive in the Pony Stocks, while Greg Rudzik took another win in the Michigan Legends. Eric Hoffman won in the visiting MCR Dwarf Cars, while Mason Surgener and Caiden Bailey won the Bandolero events.

The Boss Snow Equipment Pony Stocks would race two features in one. William Larner paced the field, and jumped out to the early lead with Ryan Hollister on his bumper. At the half way mark, the leaders began to enter lapped traffic. A couple laps later, Hollister makes the move and takes the lead on lap 14. With the laps winding down, Hollister pulls away for his second straight win. In the stock feature, Randy Kretzinger keeps his streak alive with the feature win followed by Wayne Parkhurst Jr and Jimmy Burchett.

The MCR Dwarf Car series saw Mike McManman Jr take the early lead, followed by Logan Weigal and Troy Hoffman. By lap five, Weigal moves to the high-side, and takes the lead on alp six. On lap ten, the top six cars are all racing in one group. Troy Hoffman takes over second on lap 11, as Eric Hoffman follows in to third. On a lap 12 restart, Eric Hoffman takes the lead, while Troy Hoffman follows in to second with Kim Hughes in third. At the half-way mark, the top three separate themselves from the rest of the field. With 8 laps to go, Hughes takes over second as caution waves for a second time. On the restart, Hughes quickly puts pressure on Eric Hoffman for the lead, leading by a nose on lap 18. Hoffman back to the lead on lap 20, and Hughes back out front on lap 21. Lap 22 belongs to Hoffman, as the duo make contact with the white flag in the air. Eric Hoffman holds on for the win followed by Hughes and Weigal in third.

Tyler Mackenzie grabs the early lead in the Sawyers Chevrolet Michigan legends. Rich Michalak, Tony Monge, and Greg Rudzik are the top four who quickly pull away from the rest of the field. On alp six, Monge is off the pace, and then heads to the pit area. Two laps later, Rudzik takes the lead, and sets sail, quickly pulling away. At the checkers, Rudzik takes his second straight win, followed by Rich Michalak and Tyler Mackenzie.

The Performance Automotive Northwest Spartan Stocks saw Mike Ammerman lead lap one with John Ward Jr following in second. On lap 11, Scott Sigma takes over second as caution waves. On the restart, Ammerman quickly pulls away as Dane Long takes over third. On lap m20, Bob Bauer takes over third while Long was trying to pass for second on the high-side. With five laps to go, Bauer makes a bid for second, ands takes the position on lap 26. On a lap 27 restart, Long re-takes second from Bauer, but Ammerman holds on for the win. Long takes second with Bauer in third. In the “B” feature, Jordan Harvey leads the opening lap, but Nate Jenkins takes over on lap four. Tim Lahar and Lex Jarecki closed the distance early in the race, and Lahar takes the lead on lap 17 as caution waves. With five laps to go, Art Pitchford takes over second, but Lahar is too strong and takes the win. Pitchford and Jarecki are the top three.

Up next at “The Track The Stars Call Home”, a Sunday event on June 24th. Slugfest #1 will take to the track featuring Modifieds racing for a minimum of $1140 to win. A&B Spartan Stocks, street stocks, a 50 lap Legends national qualifier, and the traveling Mid-west Compact TRG series. The evening will be capped off with an enduro figure 8.
